Did you know people made indie video games? I found out from a gamer inside a game stop once when he said “support indie games and programmers”. I stopped dead in my tracks and asked him a little bit about what he was talking about.
He proceeded to tell me about how people are starting to make their own games and put them out, especially from oversea’s where they can do more with less.
We found once such game that’s actually ranks good to great on the fun scale, it’s call Mr. Robot and after playing for a couple of hours last night I figured I’d share the love.

Ok…do not look for Halo or Warcraft here but think easy, fun, game play on your pc and you’ve got it. We suggest you try the demo and see for yourself. Long live indie/pendent!
Lady’s and gents. The time has arrived! Some people are still thinking of you, the customer. There are people out there (with lots of money I might add) who are working within the rules but making it better for you and I.
Remember when you could hit the local record store (tower RIP) and listen to anything you wanted before you bought it. The good ‘ole days are back again. Listen to all the new shit, upload your mp3’s for listening anywhere, buy the album when you hear something you want. Don’t believe me here’s a little lo fi look at the interface.

Looks like Wu-Tang Clan is coming to San Francisco, for a one-night-only performance; Thursday, Dec 27, 2007. Tickets start at $50, and quickly go up from there.

Now I know this post may be a bit strange, coming from us, but I am not posting the announcement for your benefit… I am posting the announcement to make a larger comment on how pathetic it is.
Even at the cheapest ticket price, F-I-F-T-Y dollars is a horribly inflated amount to pay to see what can only be listed as a has-been group, and just further illustrates why people should always look for the new/fresh/indie artists instead of feeding the bloated corporate monoliths.
Sure Wu-Tang has produced some good stuff. Sure Ruby Skye argueably has one of the best sound systems in the Bay Area, but paying $1000 for a premium box seat, to see a bunch of rag-tag rappers? Maybe I am just too out-of-touch, but that way is too over-the-top, even for me.
Meh… at least they made a pretty web page to announce the event!
Virgin-alert! …I had my first snowboarding experience this weekend, and it was FANTASTIC! The conditions were perfect at Northstar, the resort was amazing, and we went up on a $25 beginner’s deal which included lift tickets, gear rental, and a lesson! (So cheap!)

The day started early, getting on the road at 6:00am to beat the rush. The roads were clear and it wasn’t snowing all the way up, but once we parked in the lot, and headed up to the gear rental, it started to lightly fall. The lines for the gear were a little tedious, but only because there were a ton of beginners taking advantage of the fresh powder on the mountain, and the cheap beginner’s lessons.
Overall it was easier than I thought it would be, but I definitely did fall (and, I am seriously paying for it today). And since there were a few too many people on the slopes, it was a little difficult to make it down the hill without the fear of knocking into other beginners. But by the end of the day, I had figured out a few techniques to cope, and was able to make it at least 1/2 way down the hill with some semblance of grace.
On the way back it was a little freaky driving, since I have never really driven in snow… and because I was driving a rear-wheel drive sportscar… but we made it back in one piece and had an absolute blast doing so.
Next time, it will be a weekend’s-worth of adventure, and I just can’t wait to get back on the slopes!!!

Here are some options for you this election. In case you didn’t know there are more then two political parties. Yes, you’re right, it is most likely a candidate from the democratic or republican party will when the race but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t know your options.
We’ve actually found a site that is for independent voters where you can participate in a “primary”. Primaries are you usually only held for the different parties. But independent voter groups have come up with a way you can express who you might be voting for in a online primary. It’s happening from Dec 4th through the 16th.
Get your vote on, right hurr!

The 3rd installment of the Alife Ball Out series is soooo visually dope and if you’re ever touch them, tennis ball heaven awaits.

Contrary to what Bono thinks, consumer/personal debt is not a good thing, not even if you’re buying things with your “Product Red” American Express that will send some of that money to HIV AIDS work in Africa. Do the good deeds of the world have to be done by me having more debt?
While we’re talking about credit card debt, I know that there are still some things I need to do to get my debt down, so we looked to advice from one of our new favorite sites zenhabits.net
Here’s just one of the many helpful hints from the site author Leo Babauta.
1. Canceled the credit card. This item always draws a lot of debate, but I’ll say it anyway, because it’s been crucial in getting myself debt free: credit cards are extremely tempting, and with the high interest, they can be downright dangerous. It is possible to use them wisely and even profit from using them … however, most people don’t use them that way, and for people like me, it’s better to just cancel the card. I still had a big debt to pay on the card, but at least I wasn’t using it anymore. Rule #1: If you’re trying to get out of a hole, stop digging.
