Horrible horrible horrible… the rest of this broadcast shows a recycling company out of Denver that told people explicitly that they did not ship overseas, but 60 minutes followed the container outside their plant and it went to Hong Kong filled with cathode ray tubes…

My vote? Alway buy your technology like you will keep it forever. Buy the best thing you can get at the time and use it well past it’s lifespan! Then try to sell it or give it away to the less fortunate. Only as a last step, recycle it.

There is a great documentary called Manufactured Landscapes which touches on this industrial waste issues in China. Especially sad to see because this affects all of us. We all live on this planet and no matter how far away something seems… it affects all of us on a massive scale.
