I have never really understood the name California Extreme… but I do have to say that it is a really, really fun event if you love old gaming machines: pin ball, classic video games, and vintage game collectors. Everything from the favorites like PacMan, Asteroids, Twilight Zone, and Funhouse to rarer games that you just don’t see everyday like Quantum, Journey, Fathom and Pinball Magic. All set on “free mode” to play all you want!!!! See the list games at www.caextreme.org/games.
So, head on down to the San Jose Convention Center at Parkside Hall (just behind The Tech Museum downtown) on July 19-20, 2008! For more information, visit www.caextreme.org or download the flyer.
LEGENDmag TV headed out to cover the Maker Faire and ran into our old friend Ernie, from littleyellowdifferent.com! Come with us on a fantastic journey through the seemingly neverending exhibit halls, race tracks, and proving grounds and explore the Maker Faire!!
UPDATE: Added some photos from the event and a little more about the video.

PS: In case you were wondering about that amazing techno giraffe at the end of the episode (I fell in love with it and had to get it in the video), his name is Russell and he is an electric giraffe with a wonderful story. Go check out the website for more info and if anyone wants to build me one, I would forever be indebted!
A special thank you to all the wonderful people we met and spoke with during the event… like our new friends working on Within Reach Movie! Keep up all the hard work we will see you all next year again at Maker Faire 2009!!!!
Since the dawn of man, video games have been the natural enemy of sex. Now, you can have your cake and screw it too: WiiSex, for mature audiences only.
Invented by a trio of Stanford alumni, WiiSex centers on a Wiimote-compatible doll that harbors three sensor-laden orifices, each equipped with glowing lights and vibrations that’ll provide an experience so enthusiastically lifelike, you’ll know it has to be fake. A la Guitar Hero, the game prompts the focus and intensity of your minstrations, with the goal of each challenge being simultaneous climax — which might sound impossible, but that’s what you said about mastering “Slow Ride“, and you rocked that mother. Though your real-world accessory only comes in creepy wii-white, each stage presents its own woman, with her own needs, which you will uncharacteristically not ignore, because you take video games seriously.
Because WiiSex is new and still not licensed, its inventors are accepting beta-tester volunteers; unfortunately, you will provide them with no feedback, as ceaseless self-pleasuring is the natural enemy of helping anybody with anything.

This just in (a week ago): “To all the rappers in the top 10: Wiimbledon’s back, and this year we’re kicking it 3,000 miles clockwise from NYC to San Francisco.
The plan: Leaving the first week in June, we’ll ‘Bago it Madden-style cross-country, stopping here and there for mini-tournaments, and gas, and probably your couch. We’ll hit SF June 20th. The 2nd Annual Wiimbledon Tournament’ll be held Saturday, June 21st.
We’ll be releasing more details — e.g., where exactly we’re stopping along the way, what this year’s prizes are, etc — in the coming days and weeks. But anyone who hit up Wiimbledon 2007 knows how we throw down. So fear not, lil ladies, we’re gonna bring the goodness through the breadbasket. To stay current with our trials, tribulations, and inevitable high-fivin’ success, sign up above for e-mail updates. That way you’ll get the straight poop first, including first crack at sign-ups.
Also, keep yer peepers on the blog, where we’ll be posting with fiber-like regularity.
Finally: In keeping with Wiimbledon’s shoestring ethos, we can only do this with your help. If you’re interested in sponsoring Wiimbledon 2008 in any fashion, we’d love to talk to you. Hit the contact page, or pen us at brooklyn [dot] wiimbledon [at] gmail [dot] com.
So. Mark your calendars. Stretch your hammies. Kiss your barbies. Wiimbledon 2008’s on the way.”
Did you know people made indie video games? I found out from a gamer inside a game stop once when he said “support indie games and programmers”. I stopped dead in my tracks and asked him a little bit about what he was talking about.
He proceeded to tell me about how people are starting to make their own games and put them out, especially from oversea’s where they can do more with less.
We found once such game that’s actually ranks good to great on the fun scale, it’s call Mr. Robot and after playing for a couple of hours last night I figured I’d share the love.
Ok…do not look for Halo or Warcraft here but think easy, fun, game play on your pc and you’ve got it. We suggest you try the demo and see for yourself. Long live indie/pendent!
